Lindsey sat up and looked over at him, frowning. She was sorry she had asked the question." Sorry. It's none of my business. But, if you don't mind me asking, why do you talk to me if you don't like to talk?" She asked and remained sitting up waiting for him to tell her. She watched as the nurse was taking care of someone else.

Michael sighed, shrugging and shaking his head. "I don't know. I guess... I just had nothing else to do?" He didn't want to come off as trying to get her to leave him alone, as he really did have nothing else to do, but he knew that was the impression he was giving. "I don't know," he repeated, shrugging, and now casting his gaze over to where the nurse was. He needed his ankle to be fixed; he had other things to do, rather than sit here and... do nothing. "Thanks! I love being told. I get tlaked to just because someone has nothing else better to do than talk to me." She said angirly and sarcastically. She rolled over as best she could and faced the other direction. A single tear rolled down her cheek. She had hoped to actually gain a friend and get him to tlak, but he made it seem like he couldn't stand her at all. She waited to see if he was gonna say anything.

There it was again. Although, he should have known. Most girls, in his experience, did tend to over-react over simple little things. For instance, he didn't even want to know what girls did to get ready for things such as balls. Oh, the horror. Do you think this eyeliner goes with this dress? It was either that, or a crying fit where the only words you could understand were, I can't believe he didn't ask me! or, I can't find anything to wear!
Honestly. It would be horrible. He would be terrorized for life and never be able to face another girl again. "You know..." he started, shaking his head. "If I didn't want to actually talk to you I would have turned away and ignored you about... five minutes ago."

"Wow. Good to know." She muttered. She was still a little hurt and felt a little anger so she kept her back to him. She could feel her face turning red from embrassment. She had over-reacted and she knew it, but she wasn't gonna act like it. She already thought the boy hated her and she didn't want to amke it any worse.

Michael rolled his eyes. Another girl, another over-dramatic scene that was completely unnecessary. If only they weren't so emotional... Or, if Lindsey could use her anger in a suitable manner. For instance, Hailie threw things. Normally inanimate, small objects such as her shoes, which would be good unless the nearest things were tap shoes. However, if the need arose, she would grab a living thing. For instance, once she'd accidentally thrown their neighbor's cat. He sighed. Girls...

Lindsey wiped her face off one more time to make sure there wasn't any tears there. She rolled over and sat up with her feet dangling off the bed. She looked at him and then at the floor. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't ahve acted like it mattered so much." She said. She knew it made her sound mean, but she wasn't trying to be.

Michael just shook his head. "Don't worry about it," he mumbled. Oh gosh. This girl was almost too nice. Being in Slytherin meant more than anything that most of the time you were surrounded by people that weren't exactly the most pleasant. Nice people got on his nerves. Of course, having someone to talk to - or, rather, listen to, seeing as Michael never had anything to say - other than his sister would be nice, but really. Was it necessary if there was someone crying all over the place? "And... I'm sorry... for snapping at you... again."

Lindsey laughed," Its ok, but I thought most Slytherins were supposed to be mean and just amke fun of everyone. Your not like that, are you? You seem much to nice." She said and smirked a little. She could tell that being a little to nice got on people nerves, but all she did was apologize once. he apologized twice. She just had to laugh and she did, but she laughed silently. So he wouldn't know she was laughing.

Michael raised his eyebrows. "Well..." He actually wasn't sure for once. He sat there in silence for a moment, thinking as he cast his eyes to the floor. Michael never did look at anyone or do anything when he was thinking... which was most of the time. Did he belong in Slytherin? The stereotypical Slytherins had, for the most part, disappeared. "Well..." he repeated, although continuing this time, "I don't really think... Slytherins go around making fun of everyone." Actually, no. Most Slytherins had more dignity on them than that. "They're just... proud, I guess, and... I mean, a lot of them can come off as snobs or whatever... but they're, you know... Slytherins are people too."
He grinned slightly, shrugging. This was actually Michael's environment. A quiet place where he could think about something more than his sister's incessant babbling about bubble soap. Now, on the matter of whether or not he was... like the other Slytherins? "But no. I probably don't belong in Slytheirn. But I don't belong in the other houses either."

Lindsey saw the look on Michael's face. She stood up, as best she could, and hopped on one foot over to his bed and sat down." I know they are people. I ahve several friends that are Slytherins, but they amke fun of people. I have heard them and watched them while they made fun of Firsties." She said smirking. " You don't seem much like anyone in any house, but the Sorting Hat must ahve saw something in you to amke it put you in Slytheirn." She said. She spoke wise words for a girl of 17.

Michael raised his eyebrows. "Well... I never did think of it that way. I mean, I thought the exact same thing. I'd just phrase it differently." He shrugged, not really understanding all that she'd said, and not quite wishing to think it over at the moment. "And the reasons the Sorting Hat placed me in Slytherin would be, one... my bloodline, with my dad being a Slytherin and all. And two, the fact that I'm... as Hailie says, 'anti-social'." His sister, being the polar opposite, got in a nice friendly house. But no. Michael was happy as a Slytherin.

"Ok, All I am saying is think about it for a minute. Someone isn't just put in Slytehrin for being Anti-social. Nor are they put in there for their bloodline. Ange Malfoy is in Ravenclaw. Your own sister is in Hufflepuff. There must be another reason, one that has yet to be seen." She said and stared off at the ceiling as if she was talking to it. She turned adn smiled at Michael.

Michael raised his eyebrows. "Yes, but... if you think about it... I mean..." He shook his head. She clearly had no idea what it was like to be a Slytherin. He hadn't expected her to, but it was moreso the fact that she was very persistent. Quite stubborn. Ah well, he supposed, that was probably what came with being a Weasley. "Well, look at it this way. You're a Ravenclaw, right? So you have no idea what it's like to be a Slytherin. I mean, just having friends in Slytherin doesn't mean anything. I mean, they probably don't talk about it every minute of the day, right? I mean..." He trailed off, realizing that he was being somewhat repetetive with his choice of words but not quite caring at the moment. "Being a Slytherin isn't all about being evil or cruel. Half of the Slytherins are, I'd assume... those who like the spotlight. They like knowing that they have friends. The other half... they're more the type to lurk in a corner silently. No one really /knows/ them, and I think that's what most Slytherins have in common."

Lindsey shook her head a little. She sometimes shook it when she was listening. " Yes, I guess you are right, bu, being honest, which side would you rather be on. Don't you ever want to be in the spotlight, or do you alwyas just wanna go lurk off in a dark corner where no one will ever know you?" She asked. She knew she was being persistent about why he was a Slytehrin. She just hoped he wouldn't ask her why she was a Ravenclaw.
