"Why wasn't I lucky enough to be sorted into Hufflepuff?" Autumn whined as she was sneaking downt he staircases towards the Kitchens. Everyone knew the Hufflepuffs common room was somewhere near the Kitchens, although no one, but them knew where they were.
She ran silently across the Entrance Hall and down into the cellars. She snuck around looking for the painting. She always seemed to get lost somewhere down in the cellars, no matter how many times she came down here. She hid beind a suit of armor as a death eater walked past. She hurrired around and finally she spotted the painting. Walking up to it and tickling the pear, she was allowed entry.
As soon as the potrait opened she stumbled inside. Several house elves scurried up near her and asked what she wanted. She sighed and sat down. " Some pumpkin juice, Please." She asked.

Aidan's hand reached up, his fingers tickling the pear before he glanced around and then slunk into the kitchens. Oh yes, the Hogwarts kitchens. He was there quite often, actually, considering the fact that there was rarely someone there. That was, of course, if you didn't include the house elves, with their huge eyes and ears, and rather annoying high-pitched voices. However, Aidan didn't actually mind whatever it was that they thought of him, which he couldn't say about his classmates.
He was surprised however, to find someone there, and was about to leave before realizing that it was none other than his sister - one of them, anyways - Autumn dearest. "A-Autumn... hello..." he mumbled, walking over and watching as a house elf scuttled off to get him a Butterbeer. Pfft. It wasn't as if he ever actually came here to eat anything - if he looked at all the Butterbeer he'd had in his lifetime there however, oh boy...
"What brings y-you here?" As far as he knew, she wasn't there often, or at least never when he was there, and he was there quite too much of the time. It was where he holed himself up, not including the Room of Requirement (when there wasn't a huge rave going on) and his own dormitory.

Autumn smiled as she saw her older brother stumble through the potrait. " Hello Aidan." She said and smiled. Suddenly a house elf apeared with her juice. " Thank you." She said and siped it. " I accidentally missed dinner. Why are you here?" She asked, trying to get him to talk. He had become very quiet, and he had never told her why. As far as she knew, he never told anyone why he was so quiet.

"What, me?" Aidan asked, letting the moment of silence rest for a moment before shrugging and mumbling, "I don't know." It wasn't as if it were a complete lie. He /didn't/ know. He didn't know why he avoided people or groups... he didn't know what it was that made him so afraid to be rejected by the people he wanted to befriend... he didn't know why it was that he was almost desperate to escape any kind of social situation.
Actually, he didn't know quite a number of things about himself, which meant that he had no idea how to answer the question. And how he had most likely had his head in the clouds for several minutes and his own sister thought he was insane. Lord, there was something wrong with him... which of course, was what he knew most people thought. Or what he assumed they thought, in either case.
"No reason," he finally answered, in a nice proper voice this time. Yes, that's right, Aidan. You are /not/ insane and you /are/ normal... right?

Autumn just watched as Aidan seemed to think." No reason? There has to be a reason. Did you miss dinner, too?" She asked." I was working on my Potions essay and completely forgot dinner." She said and laughed. She was always the first in the family to have their homework done. Probably because she was in Ravencalw and she thought she was supposed to.

Aidan shrugged. "I never went to dinner..." He paused before adding, "I was in the Room of Requirement. I wasn't... hungry." He nodded, seeing as that seemed like a normal enough answer, and offered her a weak smile. Dear, he was bad at this whole thing with making up excuses. However, they were believeable, he hadn't stuttered since asking her why she was there - it was all good.
"You take school way too seriously," he told her, attempting to change the topic of conversation. He didn't like having the spotlight on himself, never had, probably never would, unless someone was willing to be his therapist for life until he was fine again. "You know that?"

Autmn looked insulted," I do not. I know several other Ravenclaws who already have their Potions essay finished." She said and laughed. " Of course, they are Ravenclaws." She said. " I'm still not sure why I'm even in that house. I only started acting like a Ravenclaw because I felt stupid being in that house and not acting like a true Ravenclaw." She said." Sorry for telling you all this. You probably aren't interested in hearing about my problems." She said and smiled.

Aidan grinned slightly, shaking his head. "You're not stupid, you're just... not like the other Ravenclaws..." He didn't particularly know any of them very well actually, other than Autumn, which meant that he couldn't judge, but from what she said, that was probably true anyways. "And I am interested in your problems." She was his sister, and besides - anything to keep the topic off of himself.

Autumn laughed." Is that an insult or a compliment? Most Ravenclaws would be mad if you said they weren't like the others." She said and smirked. " Why would you be interested in the problems of a 16 year old girl?" She asked and gave him a questioning look. She looked around and found a house elf. She walked over to it and said," Could you get me a cupcake, please?" It nodded and she returned to her seat." I don't need a cupcake, but I want one." She said and laughed. She didn't think she was fat, no, she was very skinny, but she knew that she didn't need a cupcake. She hadn't even had dinner.

Aidan smiled this time, shaking his head. She took things to heart just a tad too easily. "Neither. Just take it as a comment from your... brother." Or best friend, or the only one in the set of four older than you, etc. "And I'd want to hear them because I do." Yes, he did. Other people's problems seemed much more interesting topics of conversations than his own. "And because I owe you for dumping all my problems on you when we were kids." A cupcake? She was getting a cupcake? Hm... a cupcake would be nice. "Could you get me one too?" he called to the same house elf, grinning.

"What problems? The only problem I rememebr you having was getting stuck in a tree and Orion was laughing at you while Moly and me ran to your room and redecorated it for you." She said laughing. The house elf returned woth her cupcake. She bit into it and said," Thank you and you don't have to get him one. he doesn't need it." She said and smiled, watching the house elf nod and disappear around a corner. " I wonder if he is gonna get you one." She said.

What problems? What problems? Oh gosh, come on. What a stupid question. All teenagers, and most kids, had problems - no matter how stupid. Yeah, of course... he'd gone running to Autumn to whine to her when they'd been three and some toy of his or something ridiculous had broken, right? Exactly. No matter how stupid it had been, it'd been a problem... and the entire getting-stuck-in-a-tree scenario had absolutely not been his fault.
"I had problems," he told her in a resentful tone, nodding several times and then glancing up at the house elf that had just disappeared somewhere. "Yes, I do need a cupcake!"

"Sure... We all had problems. Molly ran to dad with hers. Orion... i guess he kept him to himself. You ran to me and I ran to you or mom." She smirked. " Do you know if mom got me the latest clothes I asked for? She hasn't owled me to tell me." She said with a frown. She had wanted those clothes so bad. She coudln't rememebr if she had shown Aidan the pictures of the clothes. They were the coolest clothes ever, at least to Autumn.

"I never really ever talked to Mom. Or Dad." Yes, his family was the bestest in the world, can't-ask-for-any-other-no-matter-what. However, his parents had always been somewhat distant, seeing as Molly and their father were always... doing something elsewhere; not that Aidan had ever bothered finding out. Psh. He had better things to do with his time, for example; getting stuck in climbing trees. "Do I look like I know about your clothes?" he asked, shaking his head. Honestly. His sisters...

"Well, I thought that owl of ours might have brought the letter to you instead of me." She said and finished off ehr cupcake. she sighed and sipped the rest of her pumpkin juice. " SO, what's new for you?" She asked. She had nothing else to say and thought it would be nice to hear of some of her brother's problems.
