He wasn't sure why he was here. The library had, this year, become terribly boring, and there had been several accidents involving... other people causing him to be kicked out of the library. Yes. That was right. None of that had been Michael's fault. All he'd done was accidentally bump into this girl, and she'd dropped a pile of books, and she'd gotten mad at him and had a huge fit in the middle of the library. Although, it had been the girl's fault in the first place, because a) she should have been watching where she was going, because he'd been reading and walking at the same time, and b) it had been all her fault for not holding the books properly.
But no. The librarian had had the decency to kick him out of the library, and the girl left with a triumphant look on her face. Pfft. It wasn't as if he didn't have better things to do than hang out at the library... Well... Actually, it turned out that he'd ended up outside, and Heidi had dragged him skating. Oh, right. That was why he was there. Because Heidi had wanted him to meet her at a library. Why would you want to meet someone at a /library/...? he wondered vaguely in his mind, although he shrugged the thought off, continuing on with what he was doing. It wasn't anything important, he was sure.
Although, she /was/ Hailie's best friend, and Hailie /would/ be the type of person to arrange for Heidi to make it so that Michael would start talking to her again... Pfft. Nah. That wasn't likely. After all, this was Hailie. She wasn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, honestly...

It was karaoke night in the girl's dorms for Ravenclaw, and Heidi was wishing she had skipped it. Kristy wasn't a great singer, if you know what I mean. "We're soarin, flyin. There's not a star in heaven that we can't re-each.." Kristy droned. "If we're tryin, so we're breakin' free...." Heidi chimed in softly. "C'mon, Heidi, you can sing louder than that!" Ellie Potter crowed, and Heidi glared at her. "You know the world can..."
Suddenly, Heidi glanced down at her watch. "Ohmygee. I gotta jet, guys. Meeting Michael at the library, and I nominate Ellie to sing with Kristy!" She said, running out of the room with her school bag.
Soon she was where she was supposed to meet her friend, waiting impatiently. "C'mon, Hailie..."

Hailie was currently making her way to where she was meeting Heidi, as quickly as she could, and of course... singing loudly at the same time. She couldn't sing very well, actually, but she could sing decently, and it was enough for Hailie... who was belting out some Muggle song at the top of her lungs and getting some odd looks. "We don't need no more than he said, she said! Some words that... I don't know... What you doing? Let's get to it! One night with you, boy just one night with - argh!"
She ended up tripping over her own two feet, falling headfirst and then sliding across the floor a few feet to end up where Heidi was. "Heidi!" She waved before getting up, dusting herself off and grinning, although she was sure she had bruised something on the way there. Ouch. Ah well. Whatever it was could be fixed later, right?
"Is Michael there yet?"

"Yes I do think so because we were supposed to be there ten minutes ago - well, I was, you know. But I did karaoke in Ravenclaw," Heidi nodded quickly, blonde curls flying as she did so. "And you got here fast cause I was waiting for like two seconds before you came and is your head okay?"
She started to walk. "So let me be like -- Hi Michael ready to study and talk cause I - we - need to talk to you about why you're acting weird and being all silent treatment-y to Hailie. Yep we do." She nodded quickly again. "How does that plan sound for wonderful?"

"Ooh, what did you sing?" Hailie asked, somehow managing to stray from the topic already. Silly Hailie - that was just the way she was, however. "And yeah, I like, ran from the Hufflepuff common room and bumped into a bunch of people and then I fell and my head's okay but I think I might have scraped my knee or something," she added rapidly, nodding as she peered into the library. Yes, Michael was there...
"Okay, do that and while he's talking I'll come," she told her after a moment of quick thought. "Yep, that sounds good." Honestly, it sounded as if it'd turn out terribly, but be optimistic, heck why not? "I mean - it sounds /wonderful/," she corrected, quoting Heidi's word straight from her. "Right. Yep. Now get in there."

"A- you're sure you want me to? Because like I don't absolutely positively HAVE to, you know...because....yeah." Heidi said very quickly. "I like don't want any...you know, hatred against me because it didn't work or Michael being mad because we set him up to find out why he's acting weird and because he won't talk to you."
"Oof!" She said suddenly, being pushed in suddenly by her cousin, and glared at Ellie as she ran off. "Misss Weasley!" Madam Lukeia hissed, glaring at the girl suddenly. "If you aren't going to get a book, then I suggest you /leave/!" She suggested, and Heidi scurried away with a 'sorry', over to Michael's table.
"Hi!"

"Yes, I'm sure, and like, Michael won't like, give you the silent treatment too because he like, totally isn't related to you so yeah," Hailie told her, nodding and watching as her friend was pushed into the library. "Hi Ellie!" she greeted before the girl ran off, leaving the Pucey girl standing there waving before she shrugged. "Oh well."
She peered intently into the library. She would have to work on those eavesdropping skills... Well, at least Michael was facing the opposite direction. That was a good thing, she decided, humming a soft tune to herself that she had heard somewhere before. Wow, she heard a lot of tunes in different places. Someone had said something about this being on TV, something about a kind of... Mission Impossible or something alike, and while Hailie deathly hated anything to do with televisions... That was a very catchy tune.
"Na na na... na na na... da da, da da! Na na na..." No more listening to the children playing games outside...

"Hi," Michael mumbled, raising his eyebrows. He was almost sure someone had shoved her into the library. Almost being the key word, of course, and he was never one to make false accusations. Of course, Michael was Michael, and seeing as he was related to Hailie, there was only so long any Pucey could shut up.
"Did someone just... push you?" Actually, he was sure he had seen a lock of blonde hair that oddly resembled his sister's, just outside of the library, but it had disappeared, and as he turned to stare there was no one there. He had probably just imagined it; or, of course, it could be the beady-eyed librarian... glaring at them in a... less than happy manner.
He averted his eyes, casting his gaze back to Heidi. "So. Anyways. Why am I /here/?"

"I - ..." Heidi rapped her fingers on the table. "I don't know," she said thoughfully. "Because you felt like coming because I rock so hard?" She teased, flipping her hair back like those Muggle pop tarts (pop stars) did. "Anyways, do you understand the potion assignment?" She asked carefully, giving Hailie a thumbs-up behind her back, their signal.
"Because I don't really get it. And other thing /we/ don't really get," Heidi said curiously. "Is why you're acting so strange all of a sudden, Michael don't-know-your-middle-name Pucey!" She hissed.

Michael rolled his eyes. Because she rocked so much. That was why she had dragged him skating and blamed it on him for her own falling into the lake. After all, it wasn't at all his fault, was it? Not that he held it against her... he was just one of those people to think things like that at random occasions.
"Yeah, I do..." he told her in a mutter, nodding before hearing what she said next and seeing none other than his own sister seat herself down next to him, starting to drone on again. Oh gosh. He was cornered. Now they would work together to drive him insane. It wasn't as if they didn't already usually did, although now it would be on purpose. Oh my.
"Hailie... hi..."

Hailie glanced around the wall again, to see Heidi very vaguely giving her the little signal they had previously come up with. She nodded briefly to herself and then came into the library, taking the seat next to Michael with a grin. Phase A complete. Alright. "So, hi, Michael, Michael, Michael, Michael, Michael!" She exaggerated his name - several times - and grinned over at her brother. "And like, Heidi, his middle name's like, Jay."
Michael Jay Pucey. And Hailie Amanda Pucey. Twins. Always had been. Nothing they could do about it, even if they wanted to. They'd never had secrets either. And they'd never acted weird around each other until that one time in Hailie's second year when she'd completely infatuated herself over some guy that had ended up transferring, and she'd been spazzing half the time. But that had been different. She'd told him that. He was hiding something. He totally was.
"So like, Michael, we like, need to figure out why you're acting so weird and what it is you're hiding. So. Spill."

Heidi was quiet for a few moments as her brain processed all this new information, and she slowly nodded. Can you believe it? She was actually quiet for a few minutes and she wasn't even asleep. (narrator) I know. A huuuuge change from usual, huh? I know right? Because usually she's all omg and I'm all shut up because she talks a LOT but I can go a long time without talking and---- I'll shut up now.
"Yeah - Michael Jay Pucey!" Heidi declared again and started working with her hair furiously. She was twirling strands around her finger, what she did when she was thinking. "Yeah, so what /is/ the deal, hm?" She glanced from Michael to Hailie and pulled out a pixi stick, downing it quickly. "Do ya'll want me to like look for a book while ya'll talk?" She asked, popping up.
Heidi wasn't very good with confrontations. Well, actually, she was, but she didn't like them. "Because I can really go do that. Really. I promise." She said this all in one breath, no pauses.

"No!" Michael quickly interfered, shaking his head. She was absolutely not leaving him with Hailie. No. He didn't think he could survive that. She would question him and question him until he ended up dying under pressure and then - oh dear, death. He was going to die. "Stay. Here. Do /not/ leave me with /her/." Yes, he knew that she was right there and would most likely find this offending - to have your own brother wish you were gone from his company.
"The deal?" he repeated, frowning. Deal? Say what? There was nothing going on, as far as he knew. "I have no idea what you're talking about." See, he had been avoiding Hailie, but that was to avoid her wrath about nearly accidentally drowning her best friend. Now he was completely confused and lost - what was it they were trying to figure out...?
Catching his sister's glare, he shrugged. "Honestly, I have no idea what you're talking about, stop looking at me like that..." Hailie's glares never meant anything good.

"Yeah. Wrong move. Because if you want me to stay then I leave and if you want me to leave then I stay." Heidi decided, gathering up her bags. She was going to eavesdrop, of course, but Hailie could only get to the bottom of this if it was a brother-sister conversation in this library. She put her purple sparkly quill in it's special box and put her bright purple pad of paper in her bag.
"I'll get a few books so we can study-udy-udy!" Heidi chimed, smiling at Hailie as if saying good luck. "Good luck, Hailes!" With that she headed off to the farthest bookcase from them, and when she got behind it she immediately ran down the other side of the library to spy on Michael and Hailie. She was cunning and graceful and... "Oof. Oops, sorry, bye!" Okay, so maybe not cunning and graceful.

"Say what?" Hailie asked, frowning and trying to put all the pieces of the puzzle together in her head and ending up... giving up. Well, typical of Hailie, of course, although of course she caught Michael rolling his eyes. "Gosh, Michael... you'd think that you'd be more understanding. I mean, you've only known me for the past seventeen -" She watched (and heard) Heidi over on the other side of the library, and - Hailie being the person she was - burst out into a fit of giggles.
She held her sides, almost falling off of the chair that she was half-sitting on, and then held onto the table in an attempt to calm herself down. "I'm okay!" she announced, to the glare of the library. "But Michael, like - you need to tell me why you're being all spaz-ish."
